South Africa head coach Mark Boucher has hinted at a possible return of AB de Villiers to international cricket ahead of the T20 World Cup. The former South African wicketkeeper-batsman has also revealed his conversation with de Villiers ahead of IPL 2021. Boucher said the talks were still at an early stage and that he would resume talks with de Villiers soon.
"I talked to De Villiers before he left to play in the IPL. Our conversation is still in its infancy," Boucher said. Boucher told the media yesterday that de Villiers is a man who wants to prove that he is still one of the best batsmen in the world of cricket by performing well in the IPL."I told de Villiers to go and perform, I would think of giving you a chance at the end of the IPL," Boucher added. AB de Villiers, 37, announced his retirement from international cricket in May 2018 and has been playing franchise cricket around the world. De Villiers is in the news for his return to international cricket before the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 last year.
