why FIFA suspends membership of Pakistan Football Federation

FIFA has suspended the membership of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF). According to a statement issued by FIFA, the council took this step due to the ongoing dispute between two football associations in Pakistan. The FIFA Council Bureau said in a statement that the membership of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) was immediately suspended due to third party interference in its affairs, in clear violation of FIFA's constitution.

Yan said the situation arose when a group of protesters stormed the PFF's Lahore headquarters and set up a PFF normalization committee headed by Haroon Malik, which was headed by FIFA. The affairs of PFF were handed over to Syed Shafqat Hussain Shah.

The statement said that the suspension of the Pakistan Football Federation was due to the occupation of the PFF headquarters and Pakistan's membership would remain suspended until the Pakistan Football Federation normalization committee returned its powers.

It is to be noted that an earlier warning letter from FIFA had warned that the occupation of the FF headquarters should be ended and the office should be allowed to operate as per the mandate given by FIFA, otherwise the matter would be immediately referred to the Bureau. The FF will be put before the FIFA Council for a decision, but the situation has not changed, with FIFA suspending PFF membership.

According to a recent statement issued by FIFA, Pakistan's membership will remain suspended until the Council is confirmed by the normalization committee that the PFF building, accounts, administration and communications system have been handed over to these individuals. Those who have its mandate under FIFA. FIFA also suspended the membership of the African country Chad's Football Association (FTFE).

According to a statement issued by FIFA, the decision was made by the FIFA Bureau Council following the government's intervention in the affairs of the Chad Football Association (FTFE) and will take effect immediately. FIFA said that Chad's membership was suspended. The decision was taken following a recent announcement by government officials here that the FTFK's powers would be completely abolished. While control of the FTFA building was also handed over to the committee.

According to the World Football Association, Chad's membership of the Football Association will remain suspended until the local government announces that the FTFA has been reinstated under the chairmanship of President Mukhtar Mahmoud Hamid and that FIFA Will be informed that he has been re-assigned control of the FTFA building. It may be recalled that Shahid Khokar on Wednesday last week outside the headquarters of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) in Lahore. Waiting for a decision, the Ashfaq group refused to leave the headquarters and Shahid Khokhar returned.

According to the report, Shahid Khokhar was the only member of the PFF normalization committee appointed by FIFA who was present there and was waiting to inform the chairman of the committee Haroon Malik whether the group of officials headed by Ashfaq Hussain Shah was the country's football Whether or not the governing body is going to vacate its headquarters, which it seized by force on Saturday.

"After numerous consultations and meetings with members of my Congress and executive committee, we have decided that we will continue to work from the PFF headquarters," said Ashfaq, who presided over the PFF elections in December 2018 under the chairmanship of the Supreme Court. It should be noted that these elections of 2018 were not recognized by FIFA. He said that when FIFA appointed the normalization committee 18 months ago, we handed over the administrative charge of PFF headquarters to it and We had hoped that he would hold transparent and fair PFF elections and put football on the right track but to date not a single step has been taken in this direction.

"They made fun of our decision to hand over the office. Now we are in a position where the normalization committee has been changed three times but there is no election roadmap yet," Ashfaq said. According to media reports, FIFA had appointed the PFF's normalization committee in September 2019. Almost four years after the disputed PFF election, Pakistan faced football problems, during which time President Faisal Saleh Hayat FIFA had suspended the Pakistan Football Federation for six months from October 2017 to March 2018 for handing over the management of PFF headquarters to a court-appointed administrator.

After the appointment of the PFF normalization committee, it was handed over to Hamza Khan, but he resigned from his post in December last year, after which Munir Sadhana was appointed acting chairman. In January, Haroon Malik was named chairman of the PFF's normalization committee, as FIFA replaced all members of the initial committee.

As in-charge, Munir Sadhana had annulled all the decisions of Hamza, meaning that Haroon and his committee had to start work from the beginning. After being given the mandate till June 30 this year, Haroon resigned earlier this month. He had announced that he would give an election roadmap by April. It should be noted that the suspension of FIFA has deprived Pakistan of participation in international competitions as FIFA recognizes only one federation which is recognized by the world governing body of football.

The incidents have escalated into a long-running crisis where Pakistan has been plagued by football problems since the 2015 election dispute of Faisal Saleh Hayat, who has been PFF president since 2003. It was divided into two factions, one headed by Hayat and the other headed by senior vice president Zahir Ali Shah, and two years later, when the Lahore High Court appointed an administrator to run the PFF, FIFA Had banned Pakistan.

Although Faisal Saleh Hayat was reinstated as president, the Supreme Court had ordered fresh elections to the PFF after the Punjab Football Association (PFE) elections, which split the PFF. After the victory of his candidate Sardar Naveed Haider Khan in the Punjab Football Association elections held by the Supreme Court, Faisal Saleh Hayat had no problem with this result but a fresh drama took place in the PFF elections. Was about to happen.

Before the election, Sardar Naveed had left Faisal Saleh Hayat and joined hands with Zahir Ali Shah, as a result of which Ashfaq was elected as the head of PFF. However, Faisal Saleh Hayat accepted the election held by the Supreme Court. As a result, FIFA appointed a normalization committee, after which Ashfaq and Zahir parted ways, which meant that the PFF Three groups were trying to seize control.
